Find more discovery
A tech node costs more discovery than you hold. Ask the tech tree where the rest is.
You need this when the card under a node says how much more discovery it needs and you do not know what to fly to earn it.
- The node you want is one you have not bought, and it costs more discovery than you have. The button only shows while that is true.
Steps
- Open the tech tree. From the hangar, tap the branching mark under the palette — or the Space Center's Research Centre, then Open tech tree.
- Tap the node you are saving for. Its card opens along the bottom. A node in a tier your Research Centre has not reached counts the extension that opens it instead.
- Tap Where to earn … more discovery, under the card's main button. It names how much you are short.
- Read the list. The Earn discovery sheet opens over the tree, with what you have and what is needed at the top, and then every source still open to you, each with the discovery it pays on the right.

A new pilot's list: every world's unread places, then the achievements within reach. - Tap Close to go back to the tree, then go and fly one of them.
What the list holds
| Section | What is in it |
|---|---|
| ON YOUR CONTRACT BOARD | Contracts and Programme missions that pay discovery — the ones under way first, then the offers waiting at the Administration. Research contracts are the ones that keep coming back. |
| PLACES NOBODY HAS MEASURED | Earth, the Moon and Mars — and any other world you have read on — with how many first readings are left there, a few of the best places to take them, and what they add up to. If you have no instrument yet, the row says to research one first. See Take a reading. |
| ACHIEVEMENTS TO EARN | The first few achievements paying discovery that you can build a rocket for today, with how many more like them are in the Achievements list. Hidden ones stay hidden. |
A section with nothing left in it is not shown. Every figure is what the game will pay; nothing on the sheet can be bought or claimed from it.
