Give up a contract
Drop a job you cannot finish, pay its bill now instead of waiting for the deadline, and free the slot it was holding.
You need this when a contract under way is out of reach and its slot is worth more to you than the wait. It costs exactly what missing the deadline would cost, so the only thing it buys is the slot and the time.
- The contract is under way. An offer you never accepted is not dropped, it just expires.
- You are on the Space Center's board. The board you open in flight is read-only and has no button for this.
Careful
Giving up takes the advance back out of your credits with a tenth of it on top, and it cannot be undone. Dropping a job is never cheaper than letting its clock run out.
Steps
- Open the board. From the hangar tap Center, tap the Administration on Earth's strip, then tap Open contracts.
- Find the row under UNDER WAY. Its goals are listed under the title, and the line at the bottom of the row says how long is left and how many credits go back if it is missed.
- Tap Cancel on that row. Nothing is sent yet. The button turns red and changes to read Give up with the bill beside it, for example −110.

Armed. The red button names the exact bill before you agree to it. - Tap the red button again. It reads "Dropping…" while the game takes it back. Tapping anywhere else on the board disarms it instead, so a stray tap cannot drop anything.
What you should see
The row leaves UNDER WAY and reappears at the bottom under RECENT, marked with a ⊘ and the credits it cost you in red. The count in the line under the title drops by one, so the Accept buttons on the offers below come back to life. Any passengers that job put on your roster go home with it.
