Cloak a ship

Pay gems once and a ship of yours is gone from every other player's sky for good: never shown to them, never met, never touched.

Use this for a ship you want to keep to yourself: a station nobody should find, a probe parked somewhere you would rather keep quiet. The cloak belongs to the ship's pod or probe core, so it covers everything joined to it.

Steps

  1. Tap the ship's pod or probe core. Its sheet opens with Cloak this ship among its buttons.
  2. Tap Cloak this ship. A sheet says what the cloak does, what it leaves out and what the ship can no longer do, with the price on its violet button and, under it, Paid once, kept for good: 100 gems · you have 120. If something stands in the way, it says what instead, and offers only Not now.
  3. Tap 100 · Cloak for good. The gems are taken, and a line at the top says no other pilot will see the ship again. Its pod's sheet now reads Cloaked: no other pilot sees this ship.

What you should see

To you the ship is as it was. To everyone else it is not there: not on their map, not beside them in flight, never a target, never in their way. While you fly it, nothing of anyone else's is solid to it: other pilots' ships never come beside you, and an open station of theirs on your map is a ghost you pass through.

The switches about other players go from its sheets for good: Open to other players, Insurance cover and Share resources with other players. Any cover it had ends, since there is nobody left for it to meet.

Note
Only this ship. A satellite or a stage it releases has its own pod or core, or none, and comes out uncloaked; the part carrying the cloak keeps it, so whichever half holds that pod or core stays cloaked. A ship of yours that docks with it is cloaked only while the two are one.
Heads up
A cloak cannot be taken off, and the gems do not come back. Think of it as part of the ship.
